Skala
Skala, one of the most popular and well organized Kefalonian settlements, is situated in the southern part of the island. It’s about 50 kilometers far from Argostoli and 40 kilometers from the airport. Among historical sites, the historical mosaics, Ancient Roman villas are worth a visit. This village was built after the earthquake of 1953 when the older village, which was standing just behind the new village, was completely destroyed; the ruins of “Old Skala” can still be seen today.
